I just bought this not realizing I was a Starforged backer a few years ago and have access to a Google Drive with all the digital editions & expansions (got it twice by mistake basically ) already and a code for a copy of Sundered Isles on DriveThruRPG I never saw before today. Is there an option to refund the new purchase since I already own a copy? I can provide screenshots, order number, etc if necessary. I love Ironsworn either way so no problem if not! :)
I don't have direct control over refunds, but it looks like there is a process by which I can ask itch for a refund for a customer purchase. I've submitted that request for your order. I imagine it takes several business days at a minimum for them to review. Perhaps let me know in a couple of weeks if you haven't seen anything come through.
And thanks for supporting the original Kickstarter campaign!
Do I also need to own Starforged to play this, or is this book sufficient? I’m intimidated by the idea of needing to read through hundreds and hundreds of pages of material to play.
It is an expansion to Starforged, and primarily uses the rules and procedures from Starforged. So, familiarity with Starforged or access to the rulebook is assumed.
You don't have to read hundreds of pages of material, since the core rules for Starforged take up about 70 pages and the rest is additional guidance, options, and reference materials (such as random tables). However, if you're looking for a light, jump in and play experience, there might be games that are better suited to your preferences.
The new version of Stargazer with Sundered Isles support is probably going to take some time, but some other apps are already integrating SI content. You can hop into the Ironsworn Discord for the latest news on availability (https://discord.gg/8bRuZwK).
